What is a budget motherboard for OC i7 7700k. Do I even need overclocking? I will play pretty much all triple A titles.

Then why did you ask if you NEED to overclock, if you're going to do it anyway?

The Hyper 212 will not be enough for the 7700K if you plan to overclock, go for something like a Cryorig H1 Universal or 240mm AIO.

Do you "need" overclocking? No, nobody needs it, and the 7700k stock can eat up any AAA title no problem. But if you have a 7700k you might as well at least have a board that you can overclock with. However Overclocking and budget aren't always the best idea. When it comes to budget OC boards, the ASUS Z270 Prime is a good choice. But make sure you buy a good cooler (like the Cryorig H7) if you want to do this.

Overclocking is ALWAYS optional, you don't need to overclock to get good performance out of your CPU.

A overclocking capable motherboard starts around $150 (you can find for cheaper, but really you don't want a cheap Z270 motherboard cause of the cheap power delivery system). Then if you don't overclock, H270 or B250 motherboards are in the $80 range.
