Hi,

This afternoon I decided to re-apply the thermal paste on my 4790k, and after rebuilding the system, it couldn''t post.

The DRAM led on my asus gryphon z97 armor edition was on, and after some research I pressed the MEMOK button, and after a few tries the system booted up.

I'm just curious on why the problem occurred, all the components remained the same.

Thanks for your help guys.

Alex.

That is strange. My guess is that, at some point while disassembling the system, your CMOS may have reset itself. When you tried rebooting the memory had to be retrained by the BIOS which is why you had to press the MEMOK button. You may need to replace the CMOS battery.
