Hi,
I purchased a computer and it came with a single stick of 8GB HyperX Fury DDR3 RAM. A Couple of years later I have since purchased many new upgrades, including a new Motherboard with 4 RAM Slots to fit 2 more of the exact same 8GB sticks.
I went to check my CPU temps after installing a new CPU Cooler and overclocking my CPU.. but I noticed that one of the RAM Sticks were running way hotter as the other two (Two were running at around 32.c idle and one was running just above 42.c idle).
I play Battlefield 1 on medium-high graphical settings and 25% of the time it would crash my computer (Freezing on one frame with sounds loops) and I would assume it was due to overheating as I would put my hand at the top of my case to feel the heat and it would nearly burn my hand just putting it above the RAM. I wouldn't say that the CPU was overheating because it runs at around 60.c when under heavy load.
I'm going to take a guess that this is to do with the times that I purchased the sticks, but I would love to find out why it runs hotter and if there is a solution.
PC Specs if needed:
CPU: i5-4690k (Overclocked to 4.2GHz @ 1.2v)
RAM: 24GB (3x8) 1600MHz DDR3 HyperX Fury (Overclocked to 2000MHz, maybe that's a cause?)
GPU: MSI 1050Ti 4GB OC Edition (OC in MSI Afterburner: +100MHz Core Clock, +1000MHz Memory Clock.)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Anniversary
PSU: Rosewill Capstone 1000w
Hope someone can help.
Thanks.
