I built my computer about 3 months ago and ever since the first day, I crash when playing games. Originally I was crashing on every game like PUBG, Overwatch, Fortnite but after updating BIOS and changing GPU slots I only crash when parachuting down in a fortnite game. When I crash my screen goes black and fans spin at 100%, I can still hear other applications audio but my screen goes black and I have to hard reset my computer to shut it off.

Parts:
MOBO - ASRock AB350M-PRO4
RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 - 2400
GPU - Zotac mini 1060 - 6gb
CPU - Ryzen 5 1500x
HDD - Western digital 1TB Blue
PSU - EVGA 500W White

Things I've done:
- Buy new ram
- Changed to second Gpu slot
- update bios to 4.50

Solution
Any good quality 550 watt or better should be more than adequate. I ran into a problem because my generic 650 watt was not able to provide the required power, but a smaller one should have worked fine. The problem is that it is very hard to test a power supply without putting it under load and a small number of power supplies are faulty right from the factory.

Do you have any way to test the power supply? I have been using the same GPU for over a year now and the only problems I had with it was when I first got it. It would crash like you mention and I thought the card was bad. Others suggested changing the power supply which totally fixed the problem. It seems the card is very particular about the power.

I am not sure how I could test the power supply? I might just buy another one to try it out.

Which PSU would you recommend for this gpu?
