Just installed one on my new AMD AM4 A10-9700 system

I have to say I'm satisfied. I was getting idle temps around 60C with stock cooler supplied with the cpu and side covers removed.

Idle now with the box completely closed and with UNI filter custom filters at the intakes to keep ALL dust and dirt out she's idling at around 41C

If I take the side cover off, temps drop to around 38C

Just letting others know. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO seems to do a great job.
I would highly recommend it.

Also, I'm using a Corsair Carbide Spec-01 case and it fits with about 10mm to spare.

Ambient Room Air Temp
82.5F or 28C

Below 40 is what you want for an idle, why is the room so hot though? 82 degrees ambient room temp is kinda hot, I would get like a fan or something to cool that room down. You might even get an idle of 30 if the room was colder.

Was this thread just saying the 212 is good? Or do you need something

Yeah, no matter what CPU temps someone may post, it always depends on other things.....I'm comfortable around 81 - 82 in my office so I guess that's why my machine runs a bit warmer.

Things that can make a big CPU temp diff.....
BIOS version
Room Temp
What CPU you're using
Software taking the reading
Whether the case is open or closed
Fan speed

So when someone says their CPU temp is "X", it really doesn't mean a whole lot without knowing all the parameters.

I can lose about 7C by opening the case and adjusting the AC colder in the room.

I do notice that the CPU temp does drop in direct relation to the room temp and when the AC kicks on it goes down in proportion.

If I wanted my CPU below 40 at idle I'd need to put the AC down to about 75 - 76...a bit chilly for me.

Just out of curiosity, what do you keep the temp at in the room where your rig is?

But one thing.......

Your CPU Cooler may not come balanced very well.
Mine had a definite vibration I could feel when it was at speed around 2000rpm.
I could actually feel a slight vibration if I touched the case near the fan.

I removed the fan and balanced the blades. Now it is smooth and no more vibration.

Long term, even a slight vibration is not good for the fan, CPU or MB...just an opinion (of course)

YMMV.
