Hello, I have been doing some research into upgrading my graphics card and I haven't found any concrete answers on if I can add a nvidia 1050 ti or 1060 sc to my motherboard without any issues It is an ASUS CG8350. Just looking to add one card to upgrade from my old 550 ti. Any responses would be appreciated!

Solution
Yes, the 1050ti or the 1060 will work on that board. You should be fine. The hardest part right now is finding one that isn't too expensive.

Awesome. Yeah I've noticed the prices are insane right now. I'm assuming because of bitcoins...? I wonder if its worth waiting until they drop in price. Also I wonder if it would be worth upgrading my cpu also, I have a i7 2600 3.4ghz. But I'm pretty sure my upgrade options regarding a cpu are limited and probably not worth it, right?

Nope. Not a lot of options. But that CPU is still really good. It won't give you any problems in games and it should work well for at least another year or two as games get more demanding on the CPU.

But with a 1050 Ti or a 1060 6GB it will do just fine. Get the one that suits your budget as both are selling for well above their standard MSRP. Also to note that if a 1060 6GB is a 100 points then the 1050 Ti is around 60 points. So keep that in mind. You'll need to decide if for the games you play and the way you want to play if you'll NEED that extra performance and if you can afford it.

Okay, I kinda figured that was the case as far as the cpu goes.. I wonder if its worth getting a card now, or wait until they eventually drop in price. Does anyone have any ideas how long it will take for them to become reasonable again? Are they still getting more expensive or starting to drop?

That is really hard to predict. Hopefully when the new generation of Nvidia GPUs. If you can wait till then, it would be the best.

If you can't wait get the 1050 Ti as even with inflated prices it costs less than half of 1060 prices. Also according to a video released around 40 minutes ago by Gamers Nexus official MSRP of graphics cards are being raised. So the cards won't get significantly cheaper even if mining breaks down. So if you can't wait get the 1050 Ti and get it Now.
