Will underclocking reduce CPU's memory speed support?

The max supported memory speed of the intel 6700K is 2133Mhz. The max supported memory speed of the 7700K is 2400Mhz. Is this increase in the 7700K due to its higher cpu clock speeds, or different hardware from the 6700K?

I'm asking because I may underclock the 7700K, but not if it means losing native support of 2400Mhz memory. Understanding what exactly, whether its CPU clock speed or the Kaby Lake design, that allows the 7700K to run 2400MHz memory natively will help here.
Thanks

Underclocking it isnt going to do anything for longevity. Running it at stock clocks the processor (aside from random faluires) will last decades. Underclocking isnt going to make it last longer. Even overclocked processors, done correctly, do not have a shorter lifespan.

Your processor will become too weak to run applications long before longevity comes into play.

I am fairly sure the speed it supports will not be effected by underclocking it, it doesn't hurt to try it either, and the thing with ram is it will still work (From what ive heard) even if it goes below the amount its rated at, so if a board supports 2000Mhz, and you put in 2400, it will just use 2000Mhz of it. Again, trying it out wont hurt anything, so just experiment with it.

I can't test it unfortunately, I don't have th system built yet. I'd like to be able to run 2400Mhz Corsair RAM with the 7700K which supports it. However if this higher memory speed when compared with the 6700K is because of higher clock speeds, and I underclock the 7700K for temps, then I'd be undoing the 7700K's unique memory capability. Thanks for the response, I would appreciate a definitive answer.

Thanks. I will have a proper cooler, but I want to limit the CPU for the sake of longevity. I just want to know if underclocking it will still work normally with 2400Mhz RAM
