Can I make my build cheaper?

Motherboard - Gigabyte
Z370M D3H Intel Chipset Z370 Ultra Durable motherboard

Cpu - i5 8400

GPU - GTX 1060 3gb

Ram - 1 × 8gb Hyperx fury DDR4 2400 mt/s

'VR support' is more of a PR talk than a real thing. But does not matter, I have listed components that are directly, one step less powerful from the ones you choose (although someone could argue that one step down from 8400 is 8350K, but it requires cooler and that makes it not really cheaper).

Unless you can find same (or equivalent) components cheaper (try AsRock Z370 Pro4 or Z370M Pro4 board), you would get lower performance. But if that does not trouble you, here are the options:
CPU: i5 8400 > i3-8100
GPU: gtx 1060 > gtx 1050ti
RAM: does not really make sense to go any lower

I appreciate your answer but the processor and GPU u suggested doesn't support VR.. if you have VR supported cheaper component in mind pls tell. Thanku
