as you see by the title i buy a new hard disk WD 2T.B is this hard disk new or? another question. there is a sticker sign written (wiped) what does it mean؟ last i want to know to what it mean.. this enterprise storage...

1. Do you get the actual full length WD warranty? In writing?

2. Install CrystalDiskInfo. See what the Power On count and Hours are.

3. Register it at western digital. See what they say about that serial number.

The label indicates that that drive was manufactured 15 Aug 2010. It's not a new/unused drive. The "wiped" sticker is another indicator. That drive spent its life in someones server.

It was manufactured in 2010.
The 5 year warranty ran out in 2015.
It has been "wiped", by someone.
You purchased it with a 1 year warranty.

Ergo, it is not a "new" drive.

Running CrystalDiskInfo may or may not give us more info on this.

You bought a drive.
It was manufactured 8 years ago.
It has a 1 year warranty (from who?).

If you were expecting a "new" drive, with a full warranty...be sure of what you're buying before money changes hands.

If the info from WD says it is supposed to have a 5 year warranty (it does), and you are only getting a 1 year warranty...that is an indication of Not New.
If it was manufactured 8 years ago, that is another indication.
If it has a sticker on it that says "wiped", that is another indication.
Lastly, where did you buy it from? Did it say "New Never Used"? Or something else?

That may or may not show all the previous usage.
If it does, that is a sure indicator.
If it does not, that may just mean that it has been actually been reset by some internal WD tools.

If you paid more than the equivalent of $5 for that drive (& yes I know components in egypt are expensive) you were robbed.

Brand new unused drives (even oem ones) come in sealed antistatic bags .
