In my computer i have a Samsung 960 EVO nvmE m.2 ssd (500 gb) with a read of 2848 mb/s on crystaldiskmark. However, the boot time is around 22 seconds from when I click the power button to when I'm at my login screen.

I have disabled most auto-start except for Avast antivirus. In my computer I also have a core i7 7700k and an Asus strix z270e motherboard. The boot priority is also set to the ssd, and on it I have my os, some games and most programs which total to 143 gb used. I have also set the mode on it to PCI-E instead of SATA.

I have looked up forums and tried their solutions, but it doesen't seem to have worked. Help and maybe a solution would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I'll bet you are using Microsoft Windows 10. It loads slower than Windows 7.

17 to 25 seconds for a cold boot (System BIOS plus Windows 10) is fairly typical.

Sorry, forgot to add but I downloaded the proper drivers and also the magician software which I both optimized it and updated the firmware through. Nothing.

Is fastboot enabled in the bios?
Also PCIE boot usually takes longer to get thru the bios phase as pcie storage gets initialized after Sata and then the system boots. Windows startup time should be a few seconds shorter but don't expect miracles.

Fast boot is enabled and it was equally as slow when set to SATA

Makes sense as I indeed am using Winsows 10. Just have to hope that they roll out a version with better performerance or more oriented toward gamers and such.

Thanks!

That sounds like a excessively long boot time for your hardware. I have a Ryzen 7 1700 with a 960 evo 500 gb and mine takes about 8 seconds. It is probably something simple. Have you tried disabling legacy compatibility in your bios? That will trim a few seconds.
