Hey, as the title suggests, im looking for a somewhat capable gaming CPU and a Motherboard to go with it, In total i have around 150 Pounds to spend on both, What would be a good deal?

I looked into a:

Fx-8350 and an GA-78LMT

But ive read on it and it seems that an FX-8350 isn't really a good choice?
Thanks in advance!

The fx series is somewhat outdated. What I’d recommend for a budget like yours is listed below. Of course, the mobo and cpu are some of the more expensive parts...excluding the gpu (which I hope you have...otherwise disregard this message entirely)

Thanks for the fast reply!

I was wondering if with a decent GPU,this would be able to play game such as:

- CS:GO 300+ FPS
- Subnautica
- Sea of Thieves
- Witcher 3
- The Forest

at a stable 30 or more FPS?
Thanks again!

Csgo might not hit 300, but you might be able to squeeze out around 200 (but the hz of your monitor determines the FPS the monitor can display anyways). Otherwise, if you get a 1050(Ti) or a 1060, you should be ok.

And you would say this would be a pretty good go-to for budget gaming and for future upgradability?

In terms of budget gaming, you should be good. I currently own a Pentium G4560 (basically a cheaper i3) alongside a gtx 1050 (regular) and to my surprise, it handles many First person shooters at a smooth 60 FPS minimum. As an example, I play a bit of rocket league and without FPS caps, it actually does at least 100fps in game...As for futureproofing, it should at least stand for 2-4 years, at LEAST. (Unless something needs to be RMA’ed). For upgradeability, you can get a Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7, and all of the gtx 10 series cards and their amd equivalents if you wish. Just make sure when upgrading you upgrade both at the same time. Otherwise, bottlenecking will occur.

Sorry for double post ahead of time, but in this case, I’d say save up for the ddr4, or take the setup you mentioned earlier...I don’t think you can do much...unless the other commenter has an idea.

So i should just wait and save up some money?
Will DDR4 Ram prices always be so high for so little? (e.g DDR4 4GB = 50 Pounds)
