Hi. So the problem is quite simple. I am a bit bad at computers.
I have an Acer v3-571-73634G50Makk laptop. Current setup:
8gb ram
No videocard.
500gb hdd
Intel i7 3632qm processor
Software: win 7 pro

Hdd went down so it’s finally time to get the old plans back to life - full update. I need a couple of tips:
1. Is it better to have a 256gb ssd and an external hdd/ssd or 480-512 ssd in the laptop itself?
2. Any specific ssd models?
3. What software is the best to get the most out of this laptop?
4. Can i add a video card? Will nvidia geforce gtx 1050 ti 4GB be compatible?
5. Is the motherboard good enough?
6. Maybe I should buy a new pc instead of all this?

Solution
1. Depends on your storage needs.
2. Crucial MX300 or Samsung EVO's are good for price/performance.
3. Not really sure what your looking for in software, just make sure the drivers are up to date and there's no unneeded programs running in the background and the laptop should run fine.
4. Probably not in the laptop itself, there are external ports that allow you to add in a dedicated video card but from what I've seen they can be quite expensive and the 1050 ti's are pretty pricey to due to the mining craze.
5. Depends on what your using the system for, adding in a SSD and doing a clean install of Windows would breath new life into it as far as general use, gaming would probably require the dedicated GPU.
6. Maybe.
