hello everyone

i just bought a new M.2 NVMe SSD for 35% price and i guess my MSI b350 gaming plus ( coming in a week ) support some M.2 ( NVMe, SATA and PCIe ).

i checked the compatibility list but looks like the one i have is not on their list but we all know some are not listed but works fine, so anyone knows if i can get lucky with this one?

M.2 is just a form factor (in essence), and can be wired for either SATA or PCIe. The slot on the B350 board can use either SATA or PCIe, so the PM961 can be used directly on the motherboard.

For the driver aspect I mentioned, you can't just go to Samsung's website (or Samsung Magician) and download a driver for the PM961, as they should be sourced from the system integrator (Dell, HP et al). They're easy enough to find, if needed. The native Windows 10 NVMe driver is likely sufficient to get you up and running.

The PM961 is the OEM equivalent of the 960 Pro IIRC.

Should work, although you may have to source your own driver.

It's M.2 PCIe x4, which the board supports (assuming populated wit ha Ryzen CPU.... which it should be as APUs aren't out yet).

That's OEM M2 your just going to have to try it and see, it's a hit and miss "50/50" even on the same series of boards.

OEM It was made for a Prebuilt PC or Laptop so the drivers were custom for the OEM like HP or Dell. OEM equipment sometimes can be finicky to get to work outside of those machines.
