So i bought this used pc recently and it supposedly has a pirated version of windows on it. So i bought a OEM key and wanted to use my 64gig usb stick to reinstall proper windows on it. So i downloaded the installation media and cleared up some space on it (cause it said it needed 8 gigs free) and it started downloading windows on it and after a while it gave me an error saying something like "something went wrong. We can not use installation media to install windows on this pc" and gave me some error numbers and asked to contact customer support if this continues. Ok,fine. So i figured id take out the USB stick and download windows onto it from my laptop. But it just suddenly wont open and says the directory name is invalid. Cant perform disk check cause it says windows cant access the flash drive. Tried changing the usb ports, didnt work. Tried changing the partition name from D to E,also didnt work. Tried formatting it,wont allow that either. So im guessing that when i was trying to reinstall windows with the installation media and i got the error,it must have screwed something up within the USB stick. I really need that USB stick to work and ive got useful stuff on it. Can anyone help out with this? Its driving me nuts.
Meanwhile,il try using one of my external HDD's to download win10 onto it with my laptop and then try on the pc. I just really hope my usb stick isnt a goner cause of some moronic error...

Thank you upfront for any advice.

I think the program might have deleted all the files on the drive to make way for the installation files. There was a message in the MCT

If you can’t read it due to bluriness, it said “The files on your USB drive will be deleted. To keep these files, back them up now to another save location.”

If you want to at least have a working usb again, you can try to right click and make a new simple volume. If it doesn’t work, you’ll be having fun with command lines.

Oh dear,it says its unallocated now.
What the heck happened there? How,what?? Im confused.
Does that mean i have to "allocate" it again? I havent done this in a long while.

Yeah,i got it working again. Created the simple partition thing.
Now i need to delete this current pirated windows i have. I put the windows tool on an external hdd while i was dealing with the usb. So i doubleclicked the boot icon from the HDD to start reinstalling windows,it said that its getting some things ready and then said it failed because it could not verify the windows key. Oh god...
I didnt even enter the new key yet. Im assuming it wont let me reinstall because the old windows is a pirated one and the key isnt valid?

No you get the mediacreation tool, download it to the hdd.

Dont put it on a flash drive, because Rufus will format it

Download the ISO with the mediacreeation tool. To the hdd.

Dont use the mediacreation tool to create the bootable flash drive. It's useless.

The ISO isnt bootable. So you cant copy it as is to a flash drive. It wont be anything

Then put a flash drive in a port. Run rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/

If the mobo has a UEFI BIOS select GPT partition in rufus. If it doesnt select MBR.

Add ISO. Click on start. Rufus will extract the ISO contents to the flash drive.

Rufus makes a flash drive bootable

When it has finished reboot, change the boot disk to the flash drive. Boot from it

When you get to windows setup delete all the partitions first. Then install windows
