losing a core

phenom II x 4 955 lost a core. didn't think it would still be working. anyone else have this happen or hear about it happening?

Yes you can have a bad core and have the rest of the CPU work, that is how they make the X3 CPUs. It is an X4 that has a bad or unstable core.

My phenom II used to disable a core whenever system crashes randomly more than once in a row but it'd turn it back on after a system gets stable
