I've been meaning to upgrade to an ssd for my desktop for a while now, but my budget is tight and I can't afford an SSD larger than 240 gigs. (the one I'm looking at is $75 and is 240Gb) My 1Tb hard drive has 361 Gb of data on it. Is there a way for me to ONLY clone my OS and a few games to the SSD while keeping the rest on my hard drive? I really can't afford to get a bigger SSD than that.

Solution
I think yes.
1. Buy a 240gb Samsung ssd about $95.
2. Use their ssd migration aid to move Your C drive to the new ssd.
The key is that the ssd migration app lets you exclude selected folders from the move.
If those folders are data folders like video files, they do not need to be moved. They will still be available later.
If those folders are steam games, there is a procedure to move them to a different drive from the C drive.
If those folders are for apps, you will need to uninstall them first and reinstall them later.
And... consider a 500gb ssd, it will be about $150 and you will have no hassle whatsoever.
Whenever a ssd fills up, it will slow down and lose endurance.
If you start with a 240gb ssd(about 220gb useable) you will...
The answer is "no".

I see two options.

1.) Get your 1TB drive down to below 240 GB and clone it to the SSD. Of course it won't be an exact clone because your partitions will be different sizes...but it's do-able.

2.) Clean install the OS and games on the SSD.

You will be very pleased with a ssd; it makes everything feel so much quicker.
It is one of the best performance updates you can buy.
