So i want to make a 19 gpu mining rig that is saperated into 3 parts ( 7, 6, 6) but i can't choose a good power supply. These are the parts:
-motherboard: asus mining expert b250
-processor: intel core i7-8700k
-memory: vengeance lpx 16gb (1×16gb) ddr4 dram 2400mhz c16
-gpu: nvidia gtx 1080 ti
-m.2 to pci-e adapter
-add2psu
-pci-e risers

Those would be the parts. So if ypu could tell me which power supplies that are devided on 3 floors can i use. And i am also using a 32gb usb with linux and claymore miner. If you could also tell me if i am using the right pregramms and good parts.

Solution

This is true, get like 3 850 watts or something like that, just make sure they have the highest efficiency you can get.

I'll get to the PSU in a min but, are you mining bitcoin? Etherium is better for GPU mining since it can't be mined with Asics like bitcoin can, its not super profitable to mine bitcoin on the GPU anymore. As for the PSU EVGA makes a 2200w PSU that can run up to 7 1080 ti's at one time, it doesn't support the north american plug so you would need to get the right plug installed unless you live in the right country.

It's important to note that if your going to get the 2200w when it comes out, it needs 200-240v American outlets only support 120v max so if your in Europe or where ever has 240v outlets your fine

you do know that the Asus mining expert b250 cant run a gen 8 cpu only the 6 and 7.

From the manual
In order to fully support 19 graphic cards mining, we recommend that you use 3
power supply units (PSU) that are designed for mining with sufficient 12V power
plugs and provide a minimum power of 3750W in total (2*1250W + 1*1350W are
recommended).

So i have just checked out this psu evga 2200w, but there are literally non or their are too expensive. So do you have another solution. It doesn't have to be 1 power supply per floor.

Your mobo supports only 6th and 7th gen cpu's so first of all your 8th gen is useless, get an older 7700k or something. and it also has support for 3 PSUs at one time, hence the multiple 24-pin's go and buy 3 850w psu's in the highest efficacy level you can, to platinum or something.

Just updated the post, he would need 3 1300w units to run all the cards or over 3750W. So 3 1300w EVGA G2 @ $426 each is not going to be cheap..... but hey your picking up 19 Gpus so thats pennies

@ andric.stefan77 I would recommend heading over to Asus's webpage and actually read the manual before you buy the board. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B250-MINING-EXPERT/HelpDesk_Manual/

1) you can run an 8700k on that board
2) you need to run 3 PSU not just one big one
3) if running all 19 Gpus its recommend to only use 4GB sticks instead of 1 16GB
4) to actually get 19 cards you need to run 8 P106 mining cards and 11 AMD cards.

goodluck finding 580's, but that looks a lot better for a mining setup

yeah, but for that board and the specs laid out in the manual that is the best setup you could have. The 1070 does better then the 580 but the board doesnt support that many nvidia cards.

Yeah, but its extremely hard to find working rx 580's

newegg has a handfull of them right now, granted you cant get 11 of the same kind but you can mix and match brands up to 11.

There are a few 6 pack 580's for almost $4k a pack so you could pick up 12 cards for $8K, have a spare for when one dies

Or wait until there's no stock of 580's and sell the extra for a high price.
