Live Gamer HD (c985) No HDMI Audio After Clean Windows Install

Hello everyone,

My Avermedia Live Gamer HD (c985) isn't capturing any audio from its HDMI input via my PS4, Switch or PSVitaTV (video capture works- just no sound). It was fine for years and suddenly overnight this issue was there in the morning. After trying so many things and finally gave up and did a fresh install of windows and it's still not working.

I know the card is fine because I've hooked it up into another PC and the audio captures normally.

Any ideas?

Thanks for responding! I did- Tried both the beta and non beta latest drivers and software downloads. Both clean and updated installs. I figured something in there was messed up, that's why I'm so shocked that the clean install of windows didn't make a difference. I guess maybe I should try some older version drivers? Hmmmm.

So today I got the hdmi capture sound to work again.... for about half an hour. I rebooted out of safe mode of windows 10, and re enabling all services and it magically worked again. I tried to cut the services down to the minimum required for windows and that ended up locking me out of windows by somehow disabling the sign in prompt. Had to re enable all services again via msconfig in safe mode and it just worked for some reason. Rebooted the PC still worked. Made a restore point in windows just in case. Hours later, it stopped working again after bringing the PS4 out of sleep mode. The sound was gone. Restore point super unluckily failed and will not take me back to the working state.

I'm assuming at this point it has to do with some AMD HDMI driver maybe overriding the audio of the HDMI capture. I'm pretty much all out of guesses at this point though, I've been troubleshooting this thing daily for about a week & a half now. Any ideas or suggestions are very welcomed!
