Hi there, can anyone inform me please about the Bios chip location on this laptop.
I am having some trouble in finding it.

I really need to find the Bios chip so that i can restore it.

Thanks in advance

your model number of your ROG laptop is incorrect... it does not exist ion the rog web site support
please check and post again ( see below ROG laptop Listing does not include your G70S) I suspect incomplete number

Where did you found that? I have searched for it earlier but have not found it.

not sure what to tell you because the international asus.com web site in service dept. does not recognize that number as valid for your laptop model. I am not trying to be a pain, but if ASUS doesn't have anything on the laptop then there are no official BIOS files to acquire to update your laptop with. ref : https://www.asus.com/search/results.aspx?SearchKey=G70S-A1&SearchType=FAQ&IsSupport=True&TopicFilter=&CateFilter=&Sort=2

what country are you in ?

NB: this laptop was built in 2008, finding support files for it will be troublesome
found a manual for it, but without a new Bios file its pointless

Hi there.

First of all, I am Portuguese.
Second, This is the information on the sticker:

Model: G70S
MB Ver. : G70S ID: 1A
88N0AG01299135A
G70S-7T028J
Check Number: 0192
Warranty: 24M <GA>
Too bad the warranty is over now,

I do have the Bios file. It was provided by ASUS tech support.

The problem is that i can't find the bios chip location. I have the laptop itself all disassembled on my bench work.

Thanks

Ok let me explain this in detail:

I have followed the procedure given by in order to update the bios.
USB thumb drive fat 32 formatted and the bios file on the root.
after that i have rebooted the laptop and entered on the Bios setup, accessing the EZ flasher
I have pointed to the bios file and the whole process started by erasing, flashing and verification.
The problem started at verification. It showed "verification error" for about 4 or 5 times. It rebooted itself and it "died". Since i do have a bios programming machine, i am trying to find the chip itself, in order to programm it again. That is why it is unassembled.
