Hi,
I currently have a weird situation where I can't tell if my cpu overclocked properly. My suspicion come from the core speed and the multiplier info I get from CPU-Z.
I just wanted to overclock my cpu to get more out of it despite it's age even though it's still solid. All the drivers and bios are up to date. I do remember that the bios is different from back when I bought this computer. The "overclock I applied in the bios is supposed to affect the multiplier unless I am mistaken.
I also followed the general guidelines of this guide (actions I did are basically only changing the disable/enable stuff and the multiplier... didn't get to touch the voltage as it seems stable): http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265056-29-2600k-2500k-overclocking-guide
Also worth mentionning that I did a factory reset in the bios and also used the jumped to reset the bios with the same result and also that the highest I could go while "overclocking is 6.3 Ghz as the bios won't let it go higher.
CPU: I7 2600k
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65
Cooling: Corsair liquid cooling forgot name (maybe h70?)
OS: Window 10
I am pretty much convinced that it is not running at 6.3 Ghz atm considering that from my search about this cpu people wouldn't / couldn't go that high without crashing.
Can you guys help me out on this and tell me if I am missing something or if everything is working properly?
Thx in advance!
