So my cpu stopped working last night after i installed razer drivers for my new naga hexv2 mouse . After the drivers or program installed it asked to restart cpu.

The computer restarted but i never got anything on the screen after about 10mins of nothing i held the power button till it turned off and restarted. Not sure exactly step for step what happened but basically the computer would go until right before the windows login screen. It would display a blue screen so fast you cant even read and then quickly restarts.

Then after some more restarts it did nothing all at no beeps even. I couldnt even boot to bios. I cleared the cmos and got boot to bios back but still restarts before login screen. I put my win7 image in cd drive and tried repair, it fixes restarts but doesn't fix the problem still restarts before log in screen. I removed the 4 ram sticks i had in, went down to one ,tried a couple ,all good. disconnected extra drives ect. To save power or elimate possible problems. Checked connections. Had a odd message one restart about my over clock settings not working, but i dont over clock? Also another message in repair about the harddrive not being found. gave up at this point last night. Found a post about similair problems and to check power supply but the post said his fans turn on and off they jump like, but my fans runs 1500rpm 100% so idk if its power supply.

Bought this computer used some time ago, could be processor, mobo, or hard drive with os on it.
System = phenom ii 1090t black single 120mm radiator water cooled , msi 970-g46 , four ddr3 8gb 1600mhz sdram, Asus rx580 4GB OC GPU, 2tb 7400rpm, power supply is a 775 watt. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.i have two 4tb hard drives as well. buying a ssd in the next couple days.

Solution
There is something wrong with the hard drive. I bought a new hard drive and installed windows and it boots fine. I can access the hard drive that wont boot now and the files on it. Got to figure out how to make the new hard drive with the new windows installed, act just like my other drive so everything's back to normal.

So $700 is your complete upgrade budget or...am I missing something.

Note: Not to be rude, but as much as I may appreciate what happened in the background, it is rather long and somewhat irrelevant to the problem. Try to keep things somewhat short and to the point.

Ok home now and working on it. Trying to create a bootable usb with the os on it? I dont have a hard drive i can load a fresh copy of Win7 on, so im hoping this will boot with that.

Ok so spent hours tonight and got no where. I cannot boot from a flash drive i guess the uefi is stopping me. Guess i need a new hard drive to install windows on and see if it loads.

Did you try to boot into Windows Safe Mode? That only loads the basics and any drivers that are acting up. Might then be able to uninstall Razer to see if it helps.

Note that you might have installed a Windows patch (which win version?) when you rebooted as well so no guarantee the Razer is the culprit.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes i did try safe mode same blue screen reboot issue. Its win 7 ultimate x64 yes your right i may have had to restart to install some windows updates, i tend to leave my computer running 24/7 and may take days for me to restart. But usually dont you have to keep clicking remind me in 4hours to restart ? I dont remember seeing that message unless it was on so long it forgot to keep posting the reminder to restart?doubt that but idk.

And let me just say that I'm not blaming Razer. I just mention it because its the last thing i did before the issue. The mouse was actual working flashing colors and moving the cursor on the screen and all before i restarted to death.

Suspect a bad hard drive. Found a old hard drive that booted to the log in screen ,but i cant remember the password for it. Picking up a new drive today. Will install fresh os and see.
