I built my own pc and used my old pc's Hard drive for it . It already had windows installed so I Could just factory reset it to get rid off my old Asus software etc since my new pc had an msi motherboard. Well I thought the pc froze at one point and rebooted it. It put me in to windows recovery and no one of the options worked. I shut it down and came back later. I tried to boot it but instantly after my motherboard logo the pc shuts down every time. I've tried resetting cmos etc. I can go into bios fine tho if I press del fast enough. Specs:
Motherboard: Msi a pro z370
Cpu: i3
Gpu: Nvidia gtx 1050 ti
Ram: 16 gb ddr ( 2x 8gb )
Hard drives: 2 x 1000gb
Psu: 550w corsair bronze

I was capable of booting it up normally before and it literally shuts down after a second of the motherboard loading screen

Yes, It sounds like Windows installed new default drivers when it was able to boot up which are not really compatible with the old drivers or the hardware. What you often end up with is you have old drivers trying to run on the wrong hardware or windows basic drivers trying to run but not comaptible with other wrong drivers. Basically a mess.
If you can get to safe mode, you may be able to delete old drivers and install some new ones there.

Which version of windows is this?

Boot to safe mode, open command prompt as admin
Rt click on the Cmd program (in Accessories) and then click on 'Run as Admin'
Enter : sfc /scannow

This will scan you system files and try to resolve corruptions.

In the meantime, I am moving this thread to the Windows 7 forum.
Thanks for the update, you hadn't mentioned that it was running longer then just starting up.

To get to safe mode, on the Recovery screen (you said you can get to but nothing worked), go to Troubleshoot, then Advanced Options, then Startup Setting, and click Restart.

I'm hoping this works for you otherwise you may need to reinstall win10 and everything else :(

Oh that's not good at all! What Happened to getting to the Recovery window... :(

How long will it stay in the bios? Navigate to PC health section and watch your various temps. See if they keep climbing until the system shuts off or if they stabilize

Ok, time to list your pc's specs with make and model#'s of the various parts if you can.

Have you tried booting up a win10 disk or usb drive? You can access recovery tools thru that also.
You might have to have a friend make a boot disk or usb for you.

I don't have win 10 on sub drive so I am trying to download Linux to a usb drive. It stays in the motherboard logo screen a few seconds but in bios it doesn't shut down at all. My temps are fine and all. I used to get to windows recovery but than it started rebooting as soon as I saw the motherboard logo. It's most likely my old hard drive is burnt or something.
