This is a pc I'm building for the little bro. I want him to have a nice gaming experience on a budget with some modern technology to compensate.

Case: nzxt s340
Motherboard: (need suggetion!)
Cpu: i7 7700k(no 8th gen suggestions needed)
Cpu cooler: cm hyper 212 evo
Gpu: evga 1060 6gb single fan(my old gpu)
Ram: corsair vengeance Lpx, 2x 8gb
Storage: 960 evo m.2
Psu: evga 650 g3

Pop your build in to pcpartspicker.com and it will suggest compatible parts.

I think you are making a mistake in going 7th gen instead of 8th, but that is your money and so is your call.

The ram, PSU, storage and GPU look good. The cooler is "ok" so long as you don't OC to much.

I would pass on the m.2 drive you can usually get double the storage space with the SATA version for the same price.
3000 MHz memory.
