I have a fairly new asus prime b350 mobo w/ a ryzen 5 cpu that has ran from day one good and no issues. The mobo and cpu my son got in early January.Anyway,we recently moved and went to re set up his pc and now we get this message "usb overcurrent detected" shutting down in 15 sec.
I have no usb cables from the front case hooked up and took all the ones out the back, keyboard, mouse, etc.and only pluged in the hdmi for the monitor. So no usb devices, even removed and replaced the cpu,did cmos and now it wont even turn on,only get the red led off the mobo.Is it possible the mobo or cpu are bad already?I'm at a loss, any advise would be appreciated.

This one is a really good board for Ryzen on a budget https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157761

But if you have more money to spend this one is also really good, your choice. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128991

It's possible the board is dead, the CPU should be fine though. Make sure all of your USB connectors were plugged in correctly. Also, make sure no cables from the PSU got loose during transit.

Estimable
I'd RMA the board if it's going to be like that. A lot of cheaper B350 boards flake out like this. The USB overcurrent is a serious and generally not fixable of the connections are good and there isn't shorts anywhere. I'd try a BIOS update before sending it back.
