Upgrading from asus Maximus viii hero

Thinking about upgrading my mobo from an asus Maximus viii hero to the asus strix rog z370-e board, presently I’m running an overclocked i7-6700k but plan on upgrading this too in the near future, is this a good board, is it worth the 190 ish?
Here’s the present specs;


Tower: nzxt h700i smart tower
Motherboard: asus Maximus viii hero
CPU: Intel i7-6700k (OC'd to 4.7@1.310v[yes stable, 21hrs p95 test])
Cooler: nzxt kraken x62+noctua nf-a14 ippc3k fans push/pull + Phanteks Halos LuX
GPU: asus nvidia strix RoG 1080Ti 11gb OC edition
Sound card: Creative AE5
PSU: evga superNOVA g2 750w gold
RAM: 2x8gb patriot viper 4 2800mhz ram
Wifi card: asus pce-ac56
SSD: Samsung evo 850+Patriot Ignite (+Samsung t5 250+500gb)
Lighting: NZXT hue+ with extension kit
Fan: TOP 3x120mm noctua nf-f12 ippc3k own fans REAR 1x140mm noctua nf-a14 ippc3k fans (all with phantek halos lux on)


EXTERNALS;
Corsair k95 platinum keyboard + rival 500 mouse
Monitor acer g257hu (ocd 85mhz)
Raspberry Pie 7in 1024x600 monitor

Not sure how you get that info. Here is the link to CPU support for asus strix rog z370-e and it does not show any 6th or 7th gen CPU support. All current Z370 chipset mobo only support 8th gen CPU only.

You have i7 6700K and GTX 1080Ti. This combo most likely give you more 60 fps on your 1440p 60hz. Your upgrade to i7 8700K and Z370 mobo will give you more fps but your monitor will not benefit since it already max out. I think your upgrade should be 1440p 144hz monitor or 4K monitor.
