I was going to go with cyberpowerpc, but their sales staff and methods suck. Told me my CC 's billing address wasn't the same as the one I gave them. I told the bank that and they laughed xD Haven't built a system by hand in a while, but figured the hands on approach is best, and often times the cheapest. I put together this list, just looking for advice as to whether or not it's a decent enough system. Usual games I play are League of Legends, Fallout 4, Skyrim, and Diablo 3.

With the current GPU prices being stupidly high, I would hold off for a bit.

I have heard some stories on that PSU which you have linked so I would be wary.

If you are only gaming, the i5 8400 is the way to go.

That OS is a bit more overpriced.

RAM is also overpriced on Newegg.

Consider this build. Cheaper and more suited if only gaming:

Partpicker.. I was trying to remember the name of that site xD So I guess i7 is more geared to workstations and i5 to gaming and general computer use. Definitely not running a workstation, though right now. Definitely going with my original case, though. That NZXT case is so... bland. The tempered glass look of the View 71 is incredible, even if it is little pricier.

Did a little tinkering with that alternate list and came up with this one. How does this pan out?

If only gaming, I would go for the Intel Alternative. Good choices on the parts. The Ryzen line is also quite capable but will be below the Intel line by maybe 5 - 10 FPS maximum. However, your Ryzen build has a 1060 in it, I would try to go for the 1070 IF prices for the car are sub $600.

If you do not mind the watermark of an Unactivated Windows, you can drop the OS and download the ISO off the Microsoft page and then install it but not activate it. Saves some cost.

I did go with intel. Ended up buying the components and building it myself. First time I got a motherboard to post the first try, too xD Intel i5 8600k with a NZXT Kraken x62 cooler(Which I tricked out with two 140mm AER RGB fans) 3 120mm AER fans on the front, a third 140mm AER on the rear exaust port. MSI GTX 1060 Armor OCV1, 16 gigs of g.skill rgb ram, 250gb ssd for the OS and a 1tb hdd for all else. Plan on shifting my old pc's 1tb driveover and transferring/house cleaning the files on it. Took me a while to get the onboard lan to work. A catch 22 scenario. You can't install a i219-v onboard lan until you update windows 10. You can't update windows 10 until you have working internet. Luckily, I had a wifi dongle and it's install disk lying around. It's still a skeleton, working on cable management and waiting on a hue+ controller and led strips, but those fans are shiny. And I definitely went with the View71 case. Pretty case with tons of room in the trunk for cable management.

Have Fun.

Beware of NZXT's software however. The CAM software has a lot of bugs, and is also known for collecting user's data. Just search CAM NZXT woes or something to that effect and see. There are a lot of problems with it, be wary.

I agree, $500 for a 1080P card is stupid. Normally that would be 4K territory but for 1080P just... no.

The Corsair RMi series are one of the better ones you can get.

But one thing - you do *NOT* need extra thermal compound. You are wasting money buying that. And those case fans are junk, you can definitely get much better ones. I like the NZXT Aer fans personally.

Yes, when I was reading this thread earlier today, I realized I wrote that because I read the RMi as VS for some reason. Apologies.
