Good build, but Ryzen does not have integrated graphics so he needs a GPU.

I agree with the AMD APU. Also if you ever wanted to upgrade to a discrete graphics card in the future, you still could. AMD's closed the gap a lot recently in the CPU department, so a ryzen processor is actually very similar in performance to the intel core series. The only drawback at launch was motherboard features, but its gotten better. At your price range though you wouldn't be buying a top of the line motherboard anyway, so for you an AMD processor is the same performance with a better integrated graphics and lower price tag.
