I installed a retail windows 7 onto a new build (pentium G4600/GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H. The Mouse and keyboard was working at first and I have them plugged into usb 2.0, but I couldn't connect to the internet. I'm guessing because I needed a LAN driver. So I installed everything on the cd which came with my motherboard, Once the cd finished installing it asked me to restart the pc but at that point the keyboard and mouse was not responding so I couldn't select the relevant button to restart. I reset and switched off the pc but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? If worst comes to worst ill try installing windows 10 as that should fix all the issues. I appreciate any help you can give me, thanks

Repeatedly tap F8 during boot screen to get to the menu of boot options for Windows 7. Select safe mode with networking (hopefully the internet will be working). The mouse and keyboard should be working. If the net is working, go here:

http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-B250M-DS3H-rev-10#support-dl

Download the W7 LAN driver, 32 or 64 bit, for your version of Windows. If you can get this onto the PC another way fine. You will need it if what comes next works. Laptop to flash drive to your PC will be fine for getting the driver, so long as you can access the driver installer.

Next while in safe mode, click start->right click Computer->select Properties->Left top of menu select System Protection->start System Restore from the button. Try a restore point before you loaded the drivers from the disk. If that removes the drivers you installed, you should be able then to boot into Windows and install the network driver. System restore can be also initiated from Advanced boot options if you are unable to get into safe mode btw. If you have this problem, mention it.
