I have run the intel processor diagnostic tool in order to test my cpu that is i7 880 and it has passed the test with no error and the highest temperature reached is 51 degree is it normal and thank you
I didnt test it with prime95 i am afraid that it will burn my cpu and i dont know how to use it so i have used the intel processor diagnostic tool to check if the cpu is fine
You figured a way to disable the thermal protection built into your CPU? If not, then the worst that could happen is it reaches 100°C and then throttles to protect itself. Don't run it for hours, but 5-10 minutes will cause no harm.
Unless you are overclocking, it should not reach 100°C; honestly I don't expect it to exceed 80°C. An i3-550 overclocked to 3.83 GHz with the stock cooler stays way below the throttle temperature.
