I am trying to build a pc with as much white as a can get (bc I like white) and the cpu that I am using, the i7 8700k, says it supports only up to 2666Mhz, while the Vengeance RGB white ram that I want, which is literally like one of the only white ram I could find, only comes in 3000 and 3200mhz speeds for the white 32gb.

If I go ahead, will the cpu just bring the memory down to its max supported speed, (which I am fine with) or will there be problems?

Solution

Buy the memory, build your PC, go into BIOS and enable XMP and your done. It should be running at 3000 or 3200 whatever you buy.
Their people using 4266 memory with those processors.
My i7 4790K says 1600 memory but I'm running 2133.
