Audio Coming Through Microphone

Hello,

I have a HyperX Cloud headset and the 3.5mm jacks are plugged into the rear I/O.

When I am listening to music for example, that music can be heard be other people when I am on TeamSpeak.

To be clear - this is not music being picked up by my microphone because it is loud coming out of my headphones.

I have recorded myself speaking while playing music with my headphones UNPLUGGED (so I cannot hear anything) and when I play the recording back, I hear myself speaking as well as the music playing in the background.

It must be an issue with the motherboard? What do you think?

Cheers!

Try to go into the Realtek sound manager (right-click the proper icon, and select "sound manager"), go into the microphone settings and see if there is a noise cancellation setting. Try toggling that and see if that works. Also if there is a "stereo mix" setting, just disable that - can also cause audio recording of other outputs (sometimes desired).

I have actually worked it out. With my HyperX input and output jacks plugged in, on recordings I get background audio. I removed my HyperX headphones and plugged in some iPhone earphones, while keeping the HyperX microphone jack plugged in and done the same test as before. When I play it back with me speaking and music playing there is NO background audio - only me speaking.

So it must be the HyperX headset right? I've been looking at getting another headset, was maybe going to get the new HyperX Cloud Alpha but might go with something that doesn't have reviews about backgroudn noise. At least now I know it isn't my motherboard!
