Non-system disk error message

I have an HP Elite 8000; I get a Non-system Disk error message on my monitors. There is a grinding noise then a beep continually reepeated coming from the tower. How do I repair this?? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a HDD may have failed. Anything odd with behavior before the issue started? The grinding noise could be the HDD trying to locate data to load the OS, but having trouble. Is the HDD light on solid when the issue occurs? Does the drive show up in the BIOS?

A solid light; there is a repeating grinding noise followed by a short beep coming from the tower.

Being you have an HP, is there a bootable diagnostic option? If so, there should be an HDD diagnostic tool to check drive health.
