Wanting an Xbox One (S or X?)

I want to get an Xbox One to play my old favorites like NCAA Football and Madden. Of course I'd probably play some other games also.

I can get an Xbox One S today.

Or I can wait 2-4 weeks and get an Xbox One X. Money is the issue and I only play PC games 2-5 hours per week. I'm not sure how much I'll play the Xbox and not sure if $500 is worth wanting to play the old NCAA games.

On the other hand, I have a 28" AMD FreeSync 4K monitor I'll be using.

Anyone playing the One X? Is it worth? I haven't had a console in almost 15 years. (Original Xbox that was my older sibling's)

Can anyone help me decide?

I would have to agree. The monitor doesn't get used much at all right now except for multiple tabs and windows while browsing or productivity. Playing the One S at 1080p isn't exactly fully utilizing it's capability.

I'll stick to some PC games for a couple weeks. :)

Waiting on something good never hurts. Well, unless it's an RX Vega and it becomes a mythical creature only seen in fairy tales :p

*Right now the Xbox One S seems to be the rare find for a good price. They were $199 just a few days/weeks ago. Now they base model is discontinued and they only S models are $279 and up because they come with games.

I see some good deals on the One X that comes with a game or two and is still only $499. Definitely a good deal for 4K gaming when compared to a PC right now.

I just know 4K gaming on my GTX 1070 isn't anything special. That's what turns me off to the idea. But maybe the console's gameplay and FreeSync will be better. I mainly play first-person shooters on PC so it wasn't that great. Now I'll be playing the sports games I don't get to play on PC.
