Hi, I recently installed an RX 550 in a ThinkCentre M81 SFF. Upon boot, I noticed that nothing was showing up on the screen. I tested it in my main rig, where it succeeded to boot without a problem. Knowing this, I'm 90% sure that it's a power issue. This ThinkCentre is the i5 2400 / 4GB Variant with a 240 Watt PSU. Is there a low profile card that can fit within those power constraints that is more powerful than the built in intel graphics of that generation?

Solution
They come with both sized brackets. If the pcb is lp, it has the lp bracket. They almost always have the full height bracket on by default.

Hm, that's a bit concerning. The only problem is that I didn't have many options that would fit into this PC. Not many cards have a low profile bracket, which is what I need. Most 730s (if not all, iirc) did not have the option for a LP bracket.

The lenovo forums are showing people running 10 series but having issues with amd newer gpus. Also nvidia 600+ series started seeing uefi issues so going older is not the issue. They have a list of nvidia gpus they've tested but not amd.

I think what you said about 730 is backwards. Most were lp. If it can be used on a 240w psu, it most definitely has mostly lp version cards.

Hm, ok. I guess I'll return this card and look for a 1030. Thanks for the help!

When I said that most 730s did not have low profile. I meant the small PCIe bracket. They were all single slot, but not "half slot" if that makes any sense (bad at describing things).
