Hello! i am going to build a new gaming rig so that i could play latest game at low settings. here's my details of the build
Motherboard - Gigabyte ga g41mt-s2 (rev 1)
Processor - Intel xeon x5450
RAM- 4gb ddr3
GPU - Zotac nvidia gt 710 2gb DDR5
now i want to ask that will my mobo and BIOS support intel xeon x5450 or not?
Note: I am getting intel xeon x5450 at $20

Solution
The xeon x5650 uses the lga 1366 socket and is completely incompatible with lga 775 or 771.

That motherboard isnt compatible with xeon cpus and also the motherboard doesnt support ddr3 memory

I also reccomend getting a different graphics card because that would be way too slow to play any modern game i would recommend a gt740 or a gt1030 atleast to even run the games above 5 fps on lowest settings on any of todays latest games

The X5650 is a different socket layout to your motherboard. I 'upgraded' a Gigabyte P35 motherboard with a Xeon L5430 that was hardware hacked (realignment of two pins and 90 degree offset notches) to operate on a socket 775 motherboard. Given the P35 is older than your motherboard, I would suggest you look at a socket 771 Xeon for your project. The L5430 can now be had for around US$16 - 17 from various Chinese shopping sites. Similarly, the E & X 54xx xeons with the same hardware hacks should work but draw much more power and generate more heat, so be careful not to undersize your cooler if you go that way.
Sorry, the X5450 should work, along with the hacks mentioned above.
