My i7-7700k is heating up to 80°c on idle. I changed my thermal paste thrice and made sure that my AIO(Corsair H100i) wasn't clogged with dust. After about a minute after booting in the temperature jumps up to the point where I'm forced to shut down my pc to prevent damage. My bios and os is all up to date, all my fans are spinning perfectly fine, and my AIO is also in top condition. After endless hours on google, most of the top potential problems listed where either dust, thermal paste or the 7700k just sucks, and all suggestions seemed to lead towards deliding the cpu, which i do not want to do. Is there anything else i could try?
My mother board is the Asus Maximus Hero IX
The thermal paste I have on is Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
Also every-time that i boot my pc up i get an error "cpu fan speed error detected" which always forces me to go into bios, this error message started strangely at the same time my cpu started to heat up, I haven't changed or messed around with any of the connections which is why this error just seemed random. I tried to change to connections to different ports but the error still shows up.
