I’ve had this ASUS X501A laptop for just over five years. I’ve never had any problems with it until a couple of months ago. Basically, wheneverI would adjust the screen, the screen would go white with black stripes going from one side of the screen to another. I always put my laptop on sleep mode by pressing the power button and turn it back on again. This would always make the problem disappear.
However, about an hour ago, everything went downhill. I adjusted my screen so a I could get a clearer view of it. I didn’t move it rapidly or anything. As soon as I adjusted the screen, I heard a little “crack” noise coming from the laptop and the screen went black. It wasn’t the battery that went crack because the battery is still working perfectly fine. I reckon it’s to do with the actual screen or something. I tried fixing it by pressing the power button and turning it back on - but this didn’t work. So I tried turning it off properly - this didn’t work either. I also tried taking my battery out and holding the power button down for a minute, but this didn’t work either.
Have I broken by laptop screen? Is it possible to fix this?
