I'm currently trying to update my BIOS as I have brought an i7-4790 and my current BIOS (I'm assuming) doesn't support it.

I have all files I need, but whenever I try to update, the progam runs, asks to reboot, but after rebooting I still have the same version as before.

Any thoughts on how I can make the update work?

Current specs
Model: X51 R2
Motherboard: 0PGRP5 (A01 bios)
CPU: i3-4130 (i7-4790)
Video card: GTX1060 6GB
RAM: 8GB DDR3

OS: Windows 10

That is not how the BIOS update works, when you run the BIOS update it wipes and re-writes the chip with the new BIOS. It does not selectively replace parts of it. It does not matter if you are upgrading one version or jumping to ten ahead, the procedure is the same. It's like dumping an old bucket of water and filling it with new. You don't need to first fill it with slight newer water, then newer water, etc... Just dump the old...

If you are worried, flash the 06 version instead of the latest one.
