No video with card installed?

trying to put geforce gt710 card into hp 8300 sff, i5 intell, with card in the monitor goes black from onboard or new card. Can anyone help?

Make sure the card is properly seated. I recently upgraded a computer and it wouldn't boot up, no power at all. It turned out I didn't seat the videocard exactly right.

Next, see if that HP has a 'secure boot' option in the bios. If it does, disable it. Also see if there is a "CSM" or legacy bios compatibility mode, if there is then enable it.
