Old memory vs new memory

DDR3-1333 / PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM SO-DIMM this is what is running in my 8 year old laptop which i am hopefully putting to rest soon i am buying a new pc but it simply states DDR4 so I was wondering what I could expect if I could expect better memory perforamces

DDR 4 will be at least 2133 and faster than what you have.
If you had DDR 3 with timings of 10-10-10-24 2133 speed and DDR4 with the same timings and speed it would perform the same.
