High Temps on GTX 1070 FE

I've been recently looking at the temps of my Nvidia GTX 1070 Founders Edition, and I noticed having temps go up to 85 or 86 at 100% load while in games like Skyrim or PUBG. I have my GPU's fan set to 60 percent on MSI Afterburner and I am still getting very high temperatures. I only bought my card a year and a half ago. I also tried cleaning it out with air, but it didn't help. What should I do to fix this? Thanks.

Solution
turn the fan speed up? However the stock profile is built to manage the temps to safe levels, that's what it is doing, keeping it cool enough whilst keeping the noise down.

I would say 13thmonkey is right. The GPU trys to stay quiet, but still cool enough to perform at highest point. Same with my GPU, it gets to around 80C or higher, but stays relative low on noise. If it really gets too hot and the GPU doesnt handle it by itself, yes turn up your fan speed manually.

What do you have your Temp Limit set at on afterburner? if I remember correctly you gotta click the drop down arrow next to power limit to access it, just in case you didn't know

First of all, make certain that your case has sufficient front airflow intake to let the card do it's job with cooling.
I like a blower cooler that gets heat directly out the back of the case.
In theory, fan coolers are better, but you need a good case airflow to take advantage of them.
It is a moot point since you need to deal with what you have.

A gpu will run hot, but it is built to do so.
80c. is a common target temperature for full performance.
Do not second guess the card with micromanaging the fan speeds.
The card will increase fan speed to keep temperatures under control to get the maximum performance it is capable of. The main negative of 100% fan speed will be noise.
