So I have a full build set up and ready to be put together, but after testing the motherboard and CPU with the PSU, it seems that I may have a faulty motherboard and/or need to do this BIOS update for the new generation of processors. I thoroughly checked the compatibility and it feels like this error just came up recently, but I may be overlooking something. Here is the full list of components I have to go into the build:
-i5-7500T
-8gb HyperX Fury DDR4 (2)
-EVGA 600W B1
-Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
-Gigabyte Z170X-Ultra Gaming LGA 1151
-2 Graphics Cards: EVGA GeForce GTX 950 SC PNY GeForce 550Ti
I installed the video cards separately as well to ensure that each one was functioning.
Any advice to troubleshoot the motherboard or resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't have BIOS version F20 installed then you need a Skylake 6th Gen CPU installed to flash BIOS.

So, this might sound like a dumb question, but you'd be surprised what we get here.

You DID have the memory and CPU cooler installed, right?

You WILL need to update the bios if it is not already updated, and for that you will likely need a CPU that is compatible with older bios versions on that board.

Pc won't work with individual components. Everything must be installed at least partially, psu, mobo, 1x ram stick, cpu and cpu cooler at a very minimum, just to be able to open up bios. Anything less is a black screen and a whole heap of beeps.

If the mobo is recent stock it should already be kabylake updated, if it's been sitting on a shelf since before the release of kabylake, you'll need to update the bios yourself, or have a shop do it with a loaner cpu.
