Is Core 2 Quad Q9400 compatible with MB Foxconn G41MXE-V?

Solution
that is because this motherboard is not suited for more power hungry processors .
it has outdated and weak VRM circuit with old iron/copper chokes and
electrolytic capacitors (which tend to lose their capacitance over time , fail and leak) and
just 3+1 power phase count (as far as i can tell from the picture) .

"S" quad cores are more power efficient lower clocked models with tdp only 65w .
personally i would avoid adding anything above 65w even if it would be officially supported .
