Hey guys,
I read the instructions on the no Post/no boot thread and none of them work for me. I built my PC in 2016 with an i3-6100, ASRock Z170M Pro4S motherboard, gtx 960 4gb graphics card and an EVGA 500W PSU. I accidentally unplugged my computer last night and left it like that all night, and when I tried to boot my computer my monitor would tell me to check my signal cable - rebooting did nothing. After leaving the computer off for a minute or so, the CPU fan wouldn't start but quickly turning power off and back on got the fan to work.
I know the computer won't post if the fan isn't working or plugged in, but when the fan does actually start up shouldn't it boot? I tried to plug the fan back in and out, but this doesnt fix the problem of the fan sometimes not starting up. I don't have a multimeter on hand so I can't test my PSU.
Could it have been the fact that I abruptly unpowered my computer?
