no other options? performance wise Fury X still considered as very fast even by today standard. even the 4GB VRAM probably not much of an issue if you willing to drop down some setting that use a lot of VRAM (like very high resolution texture). but the major problem that i see with Fury X is inconsistent performance. in some titles it can be as fast as 980ti but some other it is barely faster than RX580/GTX1060. this problem becoming more persistent at low resolution such as 1080p. Fury X most often can flex it's muscle more on much higher resolution such as 4k but at such extreme resolution that 4GB of VRAM starts becoming a problem. it is because if this kind of issue i have hard time to recommend Fury X. most often when people said...

In addition to the comment above,

X-Fire will give you enough headache to make you give up of the idea. Not even considering the required PSU to power those up...
So that's a big no for me.

One good card is better than two hot, weak, and power hungry cards.

It's a couple of years old. It was impressive for it's time, but that time has passed. The Fury X would be worth it if you had a really old, crappy video card and someone gave this to you for $50. UPGRADE! Compared to modern Nvidia Pascal or AMD Vega cards, it's obsolete.

im rocking a r9 fury nitro. i buy it last year for 330euro brand new and im playing at 2560x1080 and some times at 4k some games. for me is still a wery good card. i dont se vram is the problem. i play doom at nightmare video settings and it use under 4gb vram. just wildlands can be a problem if you set up all the i candy to the max.

not at all games at 4k have a vram is a problem. i test battlefield 1 at 2560x1080 and a 4k and vram usage is like 100mb higher at 4k. but like you said inconsistent performance is the main problem. and drivers..... drivers are bad. in wildlands some time i can play at high 60fps some times not even at low 60fps. and the problem which gpu run at 100% on desktop because of relive overlay. and i dont even have installed relive.
