https://www.asrock.com/nettop/Intel/DeskMini%20110%20Series/index.asp

I have drove myself crazy trying to find a way to somehow find an adapter or some other way to get a firewire port on to this thing , and i don't think its possible anymore :( :(
if you know of anything I can do / rig / daisy chain / wire in to headers ... Please let me know

ok here is my spec's/ connectors/ Expansion:

Slots

(the ssd slot sits directly over Wifi , and is being used for my only hard drive/ boot )

• 1 x M.2 (E key/2230) Slot for WiFi + BT Module,
1 x M.2 SSD Slot (Supports type 2280 M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4))*
* SATA type M.2 module is not supported.

Front I/O

• Power Button, Power LED & HDD LED
• 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 3.0 (Type-C), 1 x Headphone/Headset Jack ,
1 x MIC-In

Rear I/O
• 1 x VGA ,
1 x HDMI,
1 x DP,
1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x
LAN, 1 x DC-In Jack (for DeskMini 110 series)
• 1 x VGA , 1 x HDMI, 1 x DP, 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x LAN, 1 x DCIn
Jack (for DeskMini 170 series)

Onboard Connectors
• 2 x USB 2.0 Headers
• 1 x COM Port Header (only for DeskMini 110/COM)
• 1 x Front Panel Header
• 1 x CPU_Fan_1 Connector (4-Pin)
• 1 x CPU_Fan_2 Connector (5-Pin)
• 1 x DC-In Jack (Supports 19V 120W Power Adapters)
• 1 x Internal Speaker Header (4-Pin)

Solution

PCIe 1.0 x1 is 2.5Gbps while 1394b is only 800Mbps. Even the slowest version of PCIe ever is already four times as fast as the fastest common FireWire variant. There were standards for 1600Mbps and 3200Mbps but FireWire was declared dead by Jobs before any significant amount of hardware using those higher speeds was ever made.

What do you need Firewire capabilities for, specifically?

USB to Firewire adapters exist, but there are some limitations

I believe it would be possible to utilize your M.2 slot (replace the Wifi/BT module) with a M.2 to PCIe adapter/riser, and then a FW addon card ....
Would limit your bandwidth to x1, and whether that will be sufficient, again, will depend on the specific requirements.

I have an M Audio project mix I/O ( Audio interface ) i have a the 1394 A and B Pcie X 1 Sound card

the problem i'm running into on the riser, is the M.2 key E , is only 2233, and has my hard drive directly over It , im having trouble finding not only a m.2 key E riser to PCiex x1 , I also cant find any flexible solution or ribbon that also fits the Key E form factor

I need 8 analog inputs to 8 digital outputs minimum( recording drums ) , I wish I could get that for $30 :) :)

also speed of transfer seems to be 24 bit , for the project mix i/o to answer earlier

A single PCIe lane consists of one RX pair and one TX pair, which is indeed four wires plus surrounding grounds for signal integrity and, of course, power. If I read the M.2 pinout correctly though, pins on the notch are actually power, ground and detection. PCIe lanes are all on the larger contiguous part.

thank you :) :) that helps me feel more confidant that this is a viable solution
