I have a 1080 and a 970 installed in my case. I use the 970 as physx card in some instances and a miner in other. That was only to serve a purpose of explanation. Anyway, the "Preparing to Install" never stops. Last time I upgraded my driver I didn't have my 970 (Put away when I got the 1080, but pulled back out of the box for above reasons). Is it possible that the 1080 is getting features that the 970 isn't capable of? Since Nvidia supports pretty much any card to be given the PhysX role, shouldn't drivers not conflict with different cards in non SLI? I've tried Express and Custom, both get hung up on "Preparing to Install" I'm concerned that If I just delete the drivers, then navigate and find Nvidia drivers, that I won't be able to install them. At least I have a driver currently, opposed to nothing at all.

I can't say I've solved it, but when I went to Task Manage and closed it, the "Windows Permissions" shield opened. But since the App was closed, it did nothing. So I opened two instances, closed one via task manager, and when the Windows Permissions opened, I clicked okay. Then it reopened Nvidia Experience and started install. So...whatever that was, I made it passed.
