Hi all,

I upgraded my system to i7-8700k with GSkill 32gb (4x8gb) ddr4 cl16 with a Asus TUF Z370 Pro Gaming board.

All works even 5ghz (oc preset) after chacking the temps it waas somewhat high peaks on 95 degrees. So i did a delid and all works fine, on prime95 it stays under 80 highest peak was 78.
But auto it gives a vcore in hwinfo and cpuz from average 1.4 peaks from 1.47 which is high. But temps are safe. But i need help what depends the vcore on?
I tried manual oc, tried llc of 1-7, disable all c states and other stuff like speedsteppings, disabled asus mce, tried ower cache ratio. Nothing wil get me on manual under 1.4 volts.
It boot perfectly from 1.32 -1.39 but ater a couple of minutes on full load off prime or bench in cpuz the machine freezes. I see no temps above 58 degrees. Not on one of the core’s nor one of the boards temps that go above these temps (with 20 celcius room temp).
Since i kan handle these temps not a big problem but is it harmfull for cpu with these temps? ( i could always use lm on my cpu ihs and cpucooler)
Is it the bad luck with the cpu? Or is it just a bad board?
Could i better return it and get a Asrock Z370 Taichi?

No one has an answer? I tried an other board (Asrock z370 taichi) but same problems... infact.. i needed more vcore then with the asus tuf z370 pro gaming, i need to be on 1.48v to be stable on 5GHz which is very high even i can hold it on 81 degrees. Do not understand what is making this different, only that i have the worst cpu that is build. Why al are reviewers having the best ones? 1.25v for 5ghz all cores .... -3 avx... :??:

I thought it might be bad delidding zo i did the process again but still need a high vcore how ever with some adjustments i made is to 1.415 to let cinebench work but after 4 runs the pc restarts, Prime95 freezes my machine after 2 minutes so still something is nit right, no blue screens. Mostly it freezes and sometimes it just reboots allready tried with one ram module at a time, i have 4 and i can not imagine all are bad. I have no idea what is going wrong. Normally i should get a blue screen right? Also my temps are peaking at 75 degrees with 1.415v. What is also strange is that my cpu gets hot very fast and cools down very fast so it junps from 32 to 65 to 70 and then climbs up slowly up to 74/75 and then when cinebench is finished it goed even quickly down to 35 degrees. All motherboard temps (put it on the diagnose display on the board) and it is right on in hwinfo too (same values with sometimes 1 degree difference). Also tried without my gpu but did not make any difference. With lower vcore it freezes in first cinebench try and reboots. Maybe my ihs is still not touching the die enough? I just need to use a good paste like Gelid Extreme? However before delid i was on 95 degrees in cinebench so it seems like it is doing something. Should i just give up on this and leave it on 4,7ghz @1.36v? I have not tried prime on that voltage and multiplier yet
