I see no difference in speed between these two systems when using CAD design software or in any other tasks. They seem about the same.....the older system might be "slightly" faster.
This makes no sense. Maybe I can get some recommendations of things to check?

What Benchmark program should I run to get the actual differnces?

Thanks

Here are the specs for the two systems.....

2006 System
ASRock A785GM-LE Mainboard
AMD Athlon X64 Dual Core 5600+ 2793MHz CPU
4.0 GB DDR2 RAM
WDC WD5003ABYX-01WERA01 500GB Hard Drive
400Watt Power supply
Nvidia Quadro FX 580 Graphics card

2018 System
ASRock AB350M Pro4 AM4 Mainboard
AMD AM4 A10-9700 CPU
16GB DDR4 RAM
WDC WD10EURX-63FH1YO Hard Drive 1TB

You went from a workstation graphics card to onboard graphics...
I'm not surprised.
Try adding a new workstation graphics card or even a consumer graphics card would help.
GTX 1070, 1080 or 1080Ti should prove to give you much better performance.
(This is assuming that the CAD software will use a GPU. [I believe almost all of them do])

Yes you should probably get a better GPU and you probably want to look into replacing your CPU as well (depending on the software) not sure if the CAD work your doing is just for fun or if you make any money off it (like for work) if you do make money invest in both CPU/GPU (again look at the software to see what it like to render with Cuda/open GL/etc).
