Hi everyone,

I joined today to ask a question about my first pc build that I completed yesterday. The specs are:
motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z270-A
cpu: Intel Core i7-6700k
gpu: asus geforce 1060 gtx turbo
cooler: corsair h100i v2'
psu: seasonic focus 650w platinum
ram: corsair vengeance lpx 2x8gb
ssd: samsung 850 EVO 500gb

I started it up and it ran fine for a little while. After installing windows the pc restarted and I got a fan error. I realized I didn't properly attach the pump power cable for my cpu. I restarted again with the pump power cable connected to usb header in motherboard. Ever since this change my CPU has been running hot nearly instantly on startup. Temperature raises in BIOS screen to 89 degrees within minutes and is then stable. I can't go into windows because of the CPU overheat error tho.
I took the pump off the CPU, removed the thermal paste, reapplied and made sure the pump was properly attached and screwed on tightly. I have tried putting the 2x 3-pin fan cable that comes with the Corsair H100i v2 (1 for the 2 fans, and 1 comes from the pump) in both CPU_FAN header and CPU_OPT. When I put the 3-pin that comes from the pump into CPU_FAN it is not recognized. In de AIO pump header it is also not recognized. When I put the 3-pin from the fans in the CPU_FAN header I do not get an error, but anywhere I put the 3-pin cable from the pump it does not get recognized.
Are these 2 problems (CPU overheat and fan N/A) related? Can anyone tell me what might be my problem, and how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance!

I replaced the Corsair cooler with one of those more simple CPU coolers, and my problem stopped. So I'm sending back the Corsair as a defect product.
It happens that I have a different problem now. I randomly get really high and unstable ping during games. Not constantly, but happens for a while every now and then. Literally unplayable. I suspect windows 10 to be the problem, does any of you have an idea what it might be? I don't have it on my 'old' pc.

Whenever I experience this lag and I open my task manager, it does not say any program is using my network...?
